Donorbox is hiring a
Remote Senior Product Manager, CRM
📍 Remote
The Opportunity
We're building the next chapter of the Donorbox platform: a nonprofit CRM that helps organizations turn contacts into donations and donations into lasting relationships. We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the Donorbox CRM and empower nonprofits to manage their supporters and communicate with them at scale.
The CRM was launched in early 2026 on the back of a beta that drew thousands of leads. Today, it does the core jobs well and is ready for thoughtful stewardship into a market-leading product.
You'll own the CRM across the data layer (supporter records, data quality, segmentation logic, and reporting) and the engagement layer (email and multi-channel communications, automations, and stewardship). Together these aspects will cover the full "understand your supporters and communicate with them" surface. You will be the single product leader connecting both layers.
This is a builder's role at an inflection point.
What You'll Do
- Own the CRM vision and roadmap end-to-end: Translate the company's CRM strategy into a sequenced plan with clear, measurable outcomes.
- Advise and execute on a data model evolution strategy: Get deep into how supporters, households, donations, soft credits, and communications are modeled today, and drive the evolution toward a more robust, scalable model.
- Sharpen segmentation and Lists: Enable nonprofits with powerful filtering and the path toward data-informed segmentation that nonprofits need.
- Grow CRM as an acquisition engine: Ship top-of-funnel features that pull new organizations into the platform.
- Make communications demonstrably drive giving: Own the insights and metrics that help nonprofits use email and direct stewardship to uplift their fundraising.
- Run great product practice: Talk to nonprofits constantly, separate the real problem from the stated request, define success before you ship, measure it after, and iterate to success.
Who You Are (Must-Haves)
- 5+ years in product management. Previous experience building a B2B SaaS product or platform area. You've owned outcomes end-to-end and made good decisions under ambiguity and resource constraints.
- You think in data models. You can sit with engineers and hold your own on schema, uniqueness constraints, migrations, and architectural tradeoffs. You're comfortable shipping on top of an evolving model and have lived through real data migrations. You understand that for this product, the data model is the product.
- You have experience with mass communication tools. That might be email marketing, transactional emails, in-app notifications, or SMS, but you are comfortable with how communication channels get built, utilized, and measured. You know what signals success for the sender and how to guide customers towards best practice.
- You've built data-heavy B2B SaaS. A CRM, marketing-automation, segmentation, analytics, or similar data-platform product where the hard problems were about modeling and moving data, not just surfacing screens and commenting in Figma.
- You speak data fluently. You don't need to be a data engineer, but you are comfortable with JOINs and with writing CTEs. You wake up excited to look at user data, and you back your decisions with your insights.
- You build for non-technical, resource-strapped users. Our users are often a one-person fundraising department or an overwhelmed development director. Empathy for mission-driven, under-resourced organizations is a requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- You discover, decide, and translate. You love talking directly with users, can separate signals from noise, and can turn fuzzy needs into specs engineers can build against. You’ve got analogies ready to clearly communicate technical realities to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
Nice To Have
- Nonprofit or fundraising domain knowledge. A feel for how nonprofits operate and execute on fundraising strategies is a huge advantage, but isn’t a gate. We will take sharp product instincts over sector tenure alone, but be prepared to articulate how your experience will translate over to our focus on non-profit users.
- Hands-on experience with AI, and a point of view on human–AI interaction. Enough time building prototypes, agents, or workflows to be credible without needing to be an S-tier practitioner. A thoughtful view of where AI creates real value, where it can act on its own, and where a human should stay in the loop to review and decide.
- Familiarity with segmentation or query tools. Whether it comes from a CRM, a BI tool, or hands-on SQL, you’ll have a head start if you have experience with how users want to slice an audience into meaningful groups and what makes that easy or painful.
- Demonstrable, self-directed continuous learning. Curiosity is important. We’d love to hear about your projects, hobbies, or interests that demonstrate that quality, and we’d love to hear about how that translates into your craft.
